Member of Parliament for the people of North Tongu constituency in the Volta Region, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa believes the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has failed in enriching the Ghana Premier League.
Nyantakyi’s led administration has been drawn into tatters by many Ghanaian football fandoms for failing to attract investors to sponsor the league. Many have threatened to demonstrate against the Ghana Football Association for paying attention only to the Black Stars but have proven futile.
However, according to the vociferous minister, Nyantakyi has done very well for uplifting the Black Stars and sending the country to the world cup for three consecutive times under his auspices but has not done enough for the Ghana Premier League to attractive sponsors.
“In the days gone by, I love to watch Hearts of Oak verses Great Olympics or Hearts of Oak verse Asante Kotoko.” He told Asempa FM.
“I think Nyantakyi has done very well in branding the Black Stars and sending the country to the world cup for three consecutive times. It’s a massive achievement but he has failed in uplifting the local league.
“I will urge him to accept his shortcomings and find an antidote on how they will revive the local league because that is the only league we have.
“I don’t think we will pay attention to the foreign leagues if the local league is attractive enough.” He added.
