Let’s not repay Bawumia’s kindness with negativity, Oppong Nkrumah tells NPP delegates

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayiribe Constituency, has expressed his support for Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s bid to become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 elections.

During an event in his constituency, Nkrumah praised Bawumia’s substantial contributions to the NPP and his commitment to defending the party during challenges.

Nkrumah highlighted Bawumia’s dedication to shielding the party from attacks and his willingness to face personal criticisms in the process. He also lauded Bawumia’s humility and dedicated approach to party matters. Nkrumah cited the principle of reciprocating good with good, indicating that Bawumia’s contributions deserve support and acknowledgment.

He referred to Proverbs 17:13 to emphasize the importance of responding positively to Bawumia’s beneficial actions. Nkrumah also announced that he and the chairman of his constituency would cast their votes for Bawumia during the selection process, and the delegates from Ofoase Ayirebi would wholeheartedly support Bawumia in the final election.

Dr. Bawumia is one of ten contenders vying for the NPP’s flagbearer position, with the party planning to narrow down the candidates to five in a preliminary vote in August. The final election for the party’s leader is set for November 2023, determining who will succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
