Mahama Is Not Wiser Than Ghanaians – Moshake

Many of the grandiloquent promises that Former President John Mahama is making to the Ghanaian voter in the lead up to the 2024 elections can only be achieved within a timeline of decades.

However, Mr. Mahama who would have only a single term of four more years to serve if he were to be elected president again, is making them to Ghanaians everywhere he goes.

“This is because Mr. Mahama thinks that we are halfwits and idiots in this country,” Mr. Stephen Ashitey Adjei, alias Moshake, a former executive of the Tema East constituency branch of the opposition National Democratic Congress lamented.

“John Mahama thinks he is wiser than Ghanaians but he is making a mistake; Ghanaians are far wiser than him,” added Mr. Ashitey Adjei, who is popularly called Moshake.

In a statement that was published on social media, he remonstrated against what he said is Mr. Mahama’s streak of cock and bull stories just so he can win the election.

“Take the 24 hour economy thing he is talking about for instance, how soon is he going to be able to lay down the infrastructure for it within the four years window that he has as president if he is elected?” he asked rhetorically in a writeup.

He pointed out that in the event that John Mahama is re-elected president, it is going to take him at least one year to finish his appointments , meaning that even within the four year window, he will have only three years to work.

“And when Mr. Mahama comes to office, he will have Ghana’s huge debt to repay; he will have to deal with the fact that creditors are no longer comfortable lending to Ghanaians; he will have to investigate appointees of the previous government and prosecute those who are culpable and take stock of the fiscal and financial state of the country,” he pointed out.

“Again when Mr. Mahama makes these huge promises, he glosses over the fact that his policies and spending will have to be approved by Parliament. What if we have a situation where the NDC wins the presidency and squares up with the NPP in Parliament like we are having a hung parliament now, how will he fast-track his policies through parliament?” Moshake asked.

He pointed out that even from John Mahama’s previous term in office as president, there were many projects, far less grand than the current promises that he is making that were not completed.

“Even your e-block school projects were not completed in the first four years  in office how can you ask me to believe that in  the second four years you will be able to magically improve the infrastructure such that you can run the so called 24 hour economy?”

Moshake warned that in the current state of Ghana, what the country needs is a sincere and practical leader who can lead the people to face the reality.

“The World Bank only recently said Ghana’s economy has now turned the corner. Look at how long it took for the economy to start recovering from COVID-19 alone.”

Moshake called on the NDC flagbearer to stop his campaign of grandiloquent propaganda to Ghanaians warning that Ghanaians are already feeling that he is insulting their intelligence.

“When president Kufuor was in office, he suggested that we extend the four year two term limit to a single seven year term because four years is simply too short to achieve  anything meaningful in office. Ghanaians know this and so the propaganda that you can be a superman in office and achieve everything in four years will just not wash,” Moshake wrote.
