    Former Majority Leader Shares Bittersweet Experiences @70

    Respected New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart and former Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Lawyer Abraham Ossei-Aidooh, was in, what can be described as one of life’s rarest twilights, this week, having to mark a year’s milestone of the passing of his dear wife, and at the same time, celebrate his attainment of the Biblically allotted fulsome age of 70.

    This bitter-sweet irony, saw one of Ghana’s most respected legal brains both visiting the cemetery, and holding a jamboree at his house in one day.

    On Monday morning, the former Member of Parliament for Tema West, visited the grave of his dearly beloved late wife, Juliana Oparebea Aidooh, to reconnect with her, as part of the commemoration of the one year remembrance of Madam Juliana, a Godfearing beautiful woman of the Immanuel Methodist Church in Tema Community 11.

    As part of the commemoration, prayers were led for the gentle soul of Mama Juliana in the bosom of The Lord she ardently served while here on earth.

    Other symbolic rituals were the singing of hymns, and the reading of tributes and eulogies to the late soul mate of Lawyer Aidooh.

    But from the Tema Community 9 cemetery, Lawyer   Abraham Ossei-Aidooh, together with loved ones, including friends, family, church members and well-wishers headed back home straight into a  birthday bash to celebrate his 70th birthday in a low key with his respected friends such as Edward Ababio, alias Opuler, a former chairman of the Tema Premier Tennis Club and a Petroleum Engineer of the GNPC, Yaw Baffoe, a businessman with high pedigree and Mike Yaw Offei, a diplomat who is known in international circles and liked by many because of his Godfearing nature and impact at the World Bank and the IMF, Napoleon Wobil, a petro-chemical engineer who has travelled extensively, Dr. Michael Quarshie, chairman of the Tema Premier Tennis Club, Ken Mpare, a philanthropist and executive secretary of the KGL Foundation, Oti Boakye Yiadom, a retired banker, Alhaji Farouk, alias Bobby, a businessman, Sir I.B Armah, a retired engineer, Michael Adade Foli, hardworking captain of the Tema Premier Tennis Club and Martin Boakye, an estate developer were in attendance  to show love to their friend, Ossei Aidooh.

    Because of the birthday bash, the Community 11 home of Lawyer Aidooh became the cynosure of attention as many roads led to the place.

    At the party, Lawyer Aidooh, who is a member of the parliamentary service board and the Ghana Gas board, was buffeted round-about with praise as well-wisher after well-wisher testified about how generous and helpful he has been to them.

    The grateful persons who praised lawyer Aidooh ranged from staff from his law firm, clients, members of the NPP in  Tema and even members of the Tema Premier Tennis Club, to which lawyer Aidooh belongs.

    “For all that Lawyer Aidooh has done, all we can say is thank you to him. We pray that God continues to bless him with the kind generous heart that he has had all this while and increase even more, his days on earth,” said Edward Ababio, alias Opuler, he added that Ossei-Aidooh has been an invaluable contributor to the Sport of Lawn Tennis in Tema.

    Members of the club were there in their numbers, gracing both the memorial for Mrs. Juliana Aidooh and the 70th birthday party of Lawyer Ossei-Aidooh. Information has it that Edward Ababio and Yaw Baffoe, who are Ossei Aidooh’s loyal friends are contemplating pushing for a mega birthday party for Ossei Aidooh at a later time.

    Speaker after speaker at the colourful ceremony celebrated Hon. Abraham Ossei Aidooh for helping many people in diverse ways.

    The respected physically beautiful ladies who flooded the venue for the “chop-chop” include Deborah M. Sawer, alias Derbby, welfare officer of the Tema Premier Tennis Club, Dorcas Rhule, a businesswoman, Rhoda Ekuma, a businesswoman, Dorcas Naa, a tennis player who used the occasion to celebrate her birthday, Afia Boadiwaa, a businesswoman, Rukimini Daiki, a banker and a businesswoman and Dr. Doris Fien Timti, a medical practitioner.

    Brilliant Lawyers such as Sam Kyere, Richard Akpokavie and Aubrey Aidooh were among the high profile personalities at the function.

    Ausbert Aidooh, a USA based Pilot and son of the former majority leader, Dr. Thomas Mensah Afful, a medical practitioner, Joe Ohene, businessman, Nii Ofosu Armah, a businessman and Thomas Obimpeh, a businessman were also in attendance.
