The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander has invited Yvonne Nelson and two other conveners to a meeting on Wednesday, May 15.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss modalities pertaining to Yvonne Nelson’s planned Dumsor Must Stop demonstration on May 25.

In a tweet on Thursday, May 9, the actress posted a letter jointly-signed by herself and two others, indicating their intention to embark on the vigil on May 25.

The letter to the Inspector General of Police noted that the vigil will take place at the Revolution Square at 8:30 am and exit the premises at 12 midnight.

“To demonstrate our frustrations over the unacceptable erratic electricity supply…to give the president ocular evidence of the debilitating effect of the erratic power supply on us,” portions of the notice read.

The actress had for sometime now lamented the erratic power cuts experienced in the country in the past weeks. She had called for support from some persons to join her embark on a protest against ‘dumsor.’

It is recalled that Yvonne Nelson together with other celebrities organized a massive demonstration against ‘dumsor’ in 2015 under the John Mahama administration to express displeasure over the consistent power outages.
