Adu-Boahene's Lawyers Threaten Legal Action Against GhanaWeb Over "Vile and Defamatory" Publication
Lawyers representing Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former Director of the National Signals Bureau, and Angela Adjei Boateng are poised to initiate legal proceedings against news portal GhanaWeb.
The move comes in response to what their legal team describes as a
deliberate campaign to malign their clients through the publication of false
information.
In a strongly worded letter penned by Samuel Atta Akyea of Zoe, Akyea & Co., the lawyers accused GhanaWeb of intentionally denigrating Mr. Adu Boahene.
The letter, titled
"Vile and Defamatory Material Concerning Kwabena Adu-Boahene and
Angela Adjei Boateng," asserts that GhanaWeb committed libel by
disseminating the alleged false news across various social media platforms,
including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and other global outlets.
The legal team insists that the
widespread circulation of the news item has unfairly damaged the reputation of
both Mr. Adu-Boahene and Ms. Boateng.
