    Ghana Olympic Committee Applauds Team Ghana's Medal Haul at Inaugural African School Games

    The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC)has expressed immense pride and congratulated Team Ghana for their outstanding performance at the just-ended African School Games in Algeria.

    The national team clinched a total of 14 medals—2 gold, 2 silver, and 9 bronze—marking a significant achievement for the country on the continental stage.

    In an official statement released on August 6, 2025, the GOC commended the athletes, coaches, team officials, and the various federations for their dedication and contribution to this remarkable feat.

    “This outstanding performance is an attestation to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our young athletes,” the statement read. “We are proud to see them excel on the continental stage.”

    The GOC also acknowledged the tireless efforts of leaders and support staff who mentored the athletes throughout the journey, adding that their guidance has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of sports stars in Ghana.

    Looking ahead, the GOC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting grassroots sports development as the nation gears up for the African Youth Games and the Youth Olympic Games.

     The Committee emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for young athletes to shine on the global stage.

    The GOC extended its sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (MoSR), the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the Ghanaian media for their roles in making this success possible.

    The Committee concluded by encouraging more young Ghanaians to pursue their sporting dreams, stating that Team Ghana’s accomplishment would serve as a powerful source of inspiration.
